Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

For more than forty years, I have offered a blend of both in-depth and practical psychotherapy for adult individuals and couples. My style is relational, reflective, and directive.

I specialize in anxiety, depression (which shows itself in many ways), communication skills, life crises and transitions, as well as self-exploration and present-day dilemmas. I see clients on a short-term or a longer-term basis. Couples' therapy extends to working with siblings, parent/adult children, co-custody parents, and friends. I am also consultant and supervisor to other psychotherapists.

As a therapist I take into consideration the larger social setting that goes beyond one's family history. This view includes a client's class background, age, race, ethnicity, culture(s), gender orientation, gender expression, physical disabilities (hidden or otherwise) and status as a single or coupled person.

Even after being in the field for so long, I am still deeply engaged with and committed to my work. Each person or couple presents a new set of experiences: there isn't a cookie-cutter model. Once the work begins, collaboration is likely to remain fresh and stimulating, whether clients are here for only a short time, or whether they decide on a longer treatment plan.
